The Journal
A Planner’s Journal is a curated digital space by aspiring designer Dianejili Dookhie (@yugita.jasmine), created to explore creative ideas, personal projects, and everyday inspirations.
About

Part sketchbook, part diary, and part design studio wall, the journal is a space where Dianejili shares her evolving work — from half-formed thoughts to polished projects. It serves as a home for both playful experimentation and thoughtful curation, inviting others to witness her process and growth.
The site features three distinct sections:
The Entries – Weekly, journal-style reflections on everything from travel and food to daily life and design musings.
Style + Edit – A fashion-focused sub-journal that documents personal style, inspiration, and editorial ideas.
The Portfolio – A collection of Dianejili’s academic and professional design work — for those who want to see what she’s been creating more formally.
Though still growing, A Planner’s Journal is meant to feel like a peek into her creative studio: full of scribbles, scraps, crumpled ideas, and quiet moments of inspiration. It’s a space where creativity is both messy and meaningful.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you stay a while.

Meet
Dianejili
Hi there — I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Dianejili Dookhie, and this little corner of the internet is A Planner’s Journal — a curated mess of my thoughts, ideas, and creative work. I’m originally from Guyana, but I’ve lived all over: the Dominican Republic, New York City, Kansas, Trinidad and Tobago — and visited even more. My creativity runs deep through my family. My mom’s a graphic designer and painter, my grandpa and uncle build beautiful wooden furniture, and my grandma was a seamstress. Making things — by hand, with care — has always been around me.
If I had to describe myself in three words, I’d say: chaotic, fun, and always a student. I studied architecture, earned my Master’s, minored in psychology, got a certificate in architectural acoustics, and now I’m working toward my Master’s in construction management. That sounds linear, but the truth is I’ve always been guided by instinct and curiosity. I love crafting — it’s how I learned to be creative. I made paper flowers as a kid, redesigned my notebooks, collaged my homework — because we didn’t always have much, but we had imagination.
Now, I work across all kinds of mediums: illustration, architecture, journaling, pottery painting, fashion edits, even the occasional tailoring project. I don’t believe in sticking to one style — I like to play, explore, and let things feel eclectic.
The world inspires me. Anything can spark a thought if I’m paying attention. And when I need a reset? I nap. Honestly. My dreams are where so many ideas start — weird, tangled, beautiful webs that I wake up wanting to follow.
I started A Planner’s Journal to house all of this: a capsule for my work, a space to share ideas, and — maybe most importantly — a way to connect with others meaningfully. I hope this feels like more than just a portfolio. I hope you see yourself in its or feel inspired, or leave with your own ideas.
So yes — thank you for being here. I hope you’ll stay a while.
With gratitude,
Dianejili
